I had a very enjoyable experience here with a friend for dinner. I love the frenetic energy of the front of the place while the back of house was quiet and romantic. The food was fine. Nothing was bad. I just wasn't blown away. I will come back for the service and atmosphere.
Front door opens to bar seating and has good personality. There is little to no wait before being greeted and table service is friendly. Menu selections are diverse and foods are flavorful. The starter in shot glasses was not ordered but was delicious. Grilled Swordfish was beautifully presented and equally satisfying. We regret ordering the Cheeseburger and could have given a four-star review without it. The Toffee Danish Roll is underrated and no meal here is complete without a French Press. What an awesome dinner. Southwark had been on the list for a while and we were finally able to go. Perfect night to dig out back in the courtyard.
Cocktails are great and clever. Wine list is small but solid and appropriate for the menu. The beef tartare toast appetizer was great, but the grated horseradish was a little too overpowering to appreciate the tartare. The duck was PERFECT. I say that rarely and it was perfect. Enough fat to want to eat the crisp. Little enough that fat wasn’t your entire bite. Perfectly cooked. The chive mezze rigatoni was in a fantastic yet simple sauce, you’d want to drink it. The double cheeseburger was solid but the fries really stole the show. Ended the night with the corn soufflé cake which is both the weirdest and most delicious combination of flavors. So impressed with the meal. Can’t wait to come back.
Drinks were good. Liquor and amaro selection very good. Service was great. We had one food item that did no seem worth the cost so decided to eat elsewhere. The warm bread app is 2 pieces of stale bread cut in half with butter for $12. It's almost comical.
Such a cute farm to table experience!! Bf & I found this place on our road-trip from MA and it was the highlight of the trip. Our waitress was incredibly kind & gave us some cute places to check out in the area. Food was delicious and the aesthetic was immaculate. Can’t wait to come back in the summer and check out the outdoor seating space!!
The inside of the building was nice. It was dark, not too dark. The staff was very friendly and easy to talk too. They also knew their product very well. The food was delicious. I would definitely check this place out while visiting Philly.
Very enjoyable meal, unique dishes and great atmosphere. If you're looking for a nice dinner this place is just lovely. I really liked the fun flavor combinations in each dish.

Highly recommend the cocktails, the lamb tartare and especially the duck. Chris and Marina definitely have a winner. Can't wait to take advantage of their tasting room!
